Consider approval of Resolution No. 09-079 by City Commission for Mayor to execute an Advance Funding Agreement of $56,464.05 with the Texas Department of Transportation regarding reconstruction of a 0.329 mile portion of Benoist Road. (Transporation & Planning) 

Benoist Road is in close proximity to a current TxDOT project located on SH 3. With the recent construction of DISD McAdams Junior High School, Benoist Road will be the primary access for student drop-off and pick-up. The condition of Benoist Road needs to be improved to handle this increased traffic.

The current TxDot SH 3 road construction project already had a portion of the project cost allocated for repairs at the Benoist Road intersection. Credit was given for that amount in the Advance Funding Agreement. This agreement represents a 50% cost share with TxDOT. The actual cost for reconstructing this section of roadway was over $110,000.
