ACTION REQUEST
Approve and award a contract for Bid No. 2023-430 Natatorium HVAC Removal and Installation Project.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
On June 7, 2023 and June 14, 2023 a notice to bidders was published in the local area newspaper, and bid packets were made available via CivCastUSA.com. Bids were received and opened and read aloud on June 27, 2023 at 2 p.m. local time. The lowest responsible bidder was Unbehagen Construction (a.k.a TUCON) with a bid in the amount of $806,000.00. Funds will be made available via budget transfer. A bid tabulation is attached for your review.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Recreation and Tourism Department and the Public Works Department to award bid # 2023-430 Natatorium HVAC Removal and Installation to Ubehagen Construction (TUCON, LLC), for the total bid amount of $806,000.00 and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve any change orders not to exceed 25% without bringing the matter before the City Commission. Thank you.
