Approve and award a contract for bid number 2023-437 Water Line Replacement Project - Phase 20
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
A notice to bidders was published on August 17, 2023 and again August 24, 2023. Bid packets were made available to local area vendors via CIVCASTUSA. Bids were received and opened on September 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.The lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications is McKinney Construction, Inc., from Houston Texas, for the total amount bid $1,385,381.00

RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department to award bid number 2023-437 to McKinney Construction, Inc., for the total bid amount of $1,385,381.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price, without taking the matter before the City Commission.
