Please proclaim April 2025 as Fair Housing month for Texas City.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
In April 2025, National Fair Housing Month will commemorate the Fair Housing Act of 1968, with HUD and other organizations hosting events and activities to raise awareness and promote fair housing rights, and to emphasize the importance of inclusive communities. The City of Texas City has proclaimed April to be Fair Housing Month over the preceding years.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Director of Community Development & Grants Administration that the Mayor and Commission proclaim April 2025 to be "Fair Housing Month" for the City of Texas City.
