Consideration and take action to accept and authorize expenditure of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fiscal Year 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement allocation.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The City of Texas City has been awarded an annual allocation of $432,691.00 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year 2025. The CDBG program provides essential financial resources to support community priorities, including addressing homelessness, expanding access to affordable housing, improving aging infrastructure, and alleviating economic hardships faced by residents. These funds are a critical tool in advancing the City’s commitment to strengthening neighborhoods, enhancing the quality of life for residents, and promoting sustainable community development.
RECOMMENDATION
