Request the approval of the purchase of police fleet vehicles and upfitting for FY26’.

BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)

The number of vehicles required to maintain the police fleet were calculated and quotes were obtained from Chastang Ford for these vehicles. Competitive quotes for the vehicles were included in the budget packet for FY 2026 and were approved. The pricing for the vehicles is in accordance with Buy Board Fee Contract # 724-23. The total price of the twelve (12) police vehicles is $576,496.00. After purchase, the vehicles will undergo upfitting at Dana Safety Supply, Inc. The pricing for the upfitting costs is in accordance with Buy Board Fee Contract # 698-23. The total price of the equipment / upfitting for twelve (12) police vehicles is $272,464.72.

RECOMMENDATION

The Chief and Command Staff recommend the purchase of these vehicles to maintain the fleet.
