BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
Summary 1: Capital Replacement- The purchase of a new rear-load garbage truck to replace Peterbilt unit 2NP3LN9X9DM177312, which had reached the end of its reliable service life and was subsequently sold at auction. As a critical asset, the new rear-load garbage truck will ensure operational continuity in maintaining public safety and cleanliness by supporting weekly brush collection and storm debris removal throughout the community. This replacement has been budgeted, and investing in a newer model will ensure continued efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance our ability to respond promptly to weather-related events and routine service needs.
Summary 2: New Capital- The purchase of a new rear-load garbage truck to create a new collection route to service the increasing population on the west side of Texas City. As a critical asset in our operations, the rear-load garbage truck plays a vital role in maintaining public safety and cleanliness by supporting weekly brush collection and storm debris removal throughout the community. Investing in this new model will ensure continued efficiency, reduce future maintenance costs, and enhance our ability to respond promptly to weather-related events and routine service needs for the expanding area.
