ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider approval of Ordinance No. 09-37 amending the Code of Ordinances, City of Texas City, Division 3. Grease Trap and Grease Interceptor Program, Section 122-91. Installation of grease trap/interceptor compliance.
BACKGROUND
All grease trap/interceptors shall be installed in compliance with any pertinent Galveston County Health District Guidelines along with city guidelines, state and federal codes.
ANALYSIS
The total cost to install a typical sample well will usually range from $1000 to $2000. Sample wells installed in grassy areas are less expensive while those surronded by concrete or asphalt cost more. With an exisiting grease trap already in place, it is most efficient to construct the sample well arounf the exisiting outlet pipe rather than installing a premade invert sold by some grease trap manufactors.
