Consider and take action on Resolution No. 2026-050 concurring in the recommendation to award contract by GCMUD 53 to Eagle Contracting of the FM 517 Water Plant Phase 2A.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The Galveston County Municipal Utility District No. 53 received bids on April 22, 2026, for the FM 517 Water Plant Phase 2A project, which is situated within the boundaries of Texas City. The project is needed to increase the capacity to provide municipal water service to the Lakeside Bayou Subdivision. ARKK Engineering designed the plant expansion and prepared the plans and specifications in accordance with applicable city standards. ARKK Engineering reviewed the bids received and recommends concurrence in the award to Eagle Contractingstruction by GCMUD 53.
RECOMMENDATION
ARKK Engineering on behalf of the City of Texas City reviewed the bids and the LJA recommendation to GCMUD 53 to award the contract to Eagle Contracting for the construction of the FM 517 Water Plant Phase 2A Project and concurs in the recommendation. Staff have no objection to concurrence by the City Commission in the award.
