ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Request approval to amend City of Texas City Park Ordinance Hours.
BACKGROUND
The purpose of this request is to amend park ordinance hours for all city parks, and to avoid any person entering city parks between prohibited hours.
There are 2 parks (Carver Park located at 6415 Texas Avenue and Playlot Park located at 8524 Westland Ridge) with hours listed in the city ordinance.
Proposed recommendations are to open all city parks at 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight, excluding Baystreet and Carlos Garza Park. Baystreet Park and Carlos Garza Park will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m.
Request to amend park hours were presented to the Management Services Director, City Attorney, Police Department, Park Board Committee and Recreation staff for review.
The City Ordinance with all specifications is attached for your review.
