Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-032, the election contract with Galveston County supersedes Resolutions 16-004 and 16-020 for the management of the General Election of Texas City on May 7, 2016.  (Management Services)

Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-033, approving and awarding a contract for Bid # 2016-318 Belt Filter Press Replacement Project. (Public Works)

Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-034, approving submission of the Gulf Coast Center's application to receive Federal Transportation Funding and for Texas City to provide $400,000 as local match. (Planning)

Consider and take action on Ordinance No. 16-13, amending the City of Texas City's Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget to appropriate funds for the removal of the train at Noble Park and the restoration of park grounds. (Finance)

Consider and take action on Ordinance No. 16-14, amending the City of Texas City's Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget to appropriate funds for the purchase of a road planer. (Finance)

Consider and take action on Ordinance No. 16-15, amending the City of Texas City's Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget to appropriate local matching funds to the Gulf Coast Center in conjunction with their application for a federal transportation grant. (Finance)

MAYOR'S COMMENTS

Mayor Doyle stated that Commissioner Johnson had served well in his 18 years of service.  He also noted that Mayor Pro Tem Land had served the City for 47 years.  He had worked his way up through the police department to be the Chief of Police.  He had served honorably as Mayor Pro Tem since 2007.  He stated he is asked how the City Commission meetings can be so short.  He always answers that the Commission works as a team for the citizens to get things done.

COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS

Commissioner Bowie stated it was a pleasure to get to know both Mayor Pro Tem Land and Commissioner Johnson during their tenure.  She will miss working with them both.

Commissioner Roberts stated both Commissioners had contributed a lot to the City over the years.  He thanked them both for their service to the City.

Commissioner Haney stated she enjoyed working with both of them.  She especially enjoyed working as a team with them and getting a lot accomplished.

Commissioner Johnson said thank you to the citizens of Texas City for allowing him to serve them for the last 16 years.  He also stated that working with City staff was always a pleasure and they were very professional.

Mayor Pro Tem Land said that his 47 years has been a great experience.  He said he has worked with 5 Mayors which in itself is an amazing fact.  He thank all of the Commissioners and City Staff for their help through out the years.
