A Regular Called Meeting of the City Commission was held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 5:00 P.M. in the Kenneth T. Nunn Council Room in City Hall, Texas City, Texas. A quorum having been met, the meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Mayor Matthew T. Doyle.

Mayor Doyle acknowledged the following swimmers for a great job:
Avery Demers, 25 Freestyle (4th Place),

Jacob Calhoun, 25 Backstroke (4th Place)
Kendal Johnson, 25 Backstroke (4th Place)
Camden Johnson, 25 Backstroke (4th Place),

Gracyn Gonzalez-Yanni, 50 Freestyle (4th Place),

REPORTS
a.
Aquatics Program (Recreation and Tourism)
Dennis Harris, Recreation and Tourism Director, and Robert McNeil, Aquatics Coordinator, provided the Commissioners with an overview of the 2016 Aquatics Program. He noted that in the last four years there was an increase of operating days and attendance at the Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center. The 2016 operating season saw a total of ninety-nine days open with eleven days where bad weather caused it to close. There were a total of forty-five private reservations for personal events.

Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-072, approving a revised contract for fiscal year 2017 between the Galveston County Health District and the City of Texas City for water pollution control and abatement services. (Public Works)
c.
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-073, approving the Animal Services Interlocal Agreement. (Management Services)
d.
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-074, authorizing the Galveston County Sheriff to auction Tax Foreclosed Properties pursuant to Texas Property Tax Code 34.05. (Management Services)
Motion by Commissioner At Large Dee Ann Haney, Seconded by Commissioner District 4 Jamie Clark to approve Consent Agenda.
Vote: 7 - 0 CARRIED

MAYOR'S COMMENTS
Mayor Doyle stated he was told what a great golf course the City has and they like the design.

COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS
Commissioner Bowie thanked everyone who came out to celebrate National Night Out.
Commissioner Roberts thanked the police and fire department for their participation in National Night Out.
Commissioner Haney stated the Foundation for the Future dinner was next Thursday and the Mayor would be receiving an award.
Commissioner Clawson noted the repairs at the Doyle and Nessler Centers looked very nice.
Commissioner Clark stated the Foundation Board had donated over one million dollars to local schools.

Having no further business, Commissioner Haney made a MOTION to ADJOURN at 5:26 p.m.; the motion was SECONDED by Commissioner Clawson. All present voted AYE. MOTION CARRIED.
