Mayor Doyle called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.
Laura Boyd, Finance Director, went over the budgets for the Utility Division, Group Insurance, Hotel Motel Tax fund and Corporation Budgets. The proposed Water Revenue fund budget for FY 2016-2017 is $5,688.598.00. The proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant Expenses for FY 2016-2017 is $4,226.671.00. The total revenues for the Group Insurance Fund budget for FY 2016-2017 is $7,626,426.00. The Fund Balance - End of year for the Hotel Motel Tax Fund is $417,126.00. She also mentioned that all corporations share in cost of employees.
Mayor Doyle mentioned the changes in rates for employees and the plan. There is a need to reduce the reduce the deficit we face each year.
Laura Boyd, Finance Director mentioned that we are self insured so the City pays Claims. We need to do some things to encourage healthier employees.
After not further questions, Mayor Doyle called the meeting to a close at 4:57 P.M.
NOTICE: The City of Texas City will furnish free transportation to handicapped individuals via a 4-door sedan for anyone wishing to attend the City Commission meetings. Call 948-3111, City Secretary's Office before noon on Monday preceding the meeting to make arrangements.
