A Regular Called Meeting of the City Commission was held on Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 20, 2023, at 5:00 P.M. in the Kenneth T. Nunn Council Room in City Hall, Texas City, Texas. A quorum having been met, the meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Dedrick D. Johnson.

Ratify the tax increase reflected in the 2023 - 2024 Fiscal Year Budget that will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $2,353,755, or 7.30 percent, and of that amount, $803,884 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
Commissioner District 2 Felix Herrera made a motion to ratify the tax increase reflected in the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year Budget; Commissioner District 1 DeAndre' Knoxson seconded the motion.
