ACTION REQUEST
Approve and award a contract for Bid No. 2024-454, Security Fence Replacement at the City of Texas City's Wastewater Treatment Plant to LG&G Construction, Inc., out of Houston, Texas, for the total bid amount of $149,796.25.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
A notice to bidders was published on April 12, 2024, and again on April 19, 2024. Bid packets were made available to local area vendors via CIVCASTUSA. Bids were received and opened on April 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.  The lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications was LG&G Construction, Inc. from Houston Texas, for the total bid amount of $149,796.25. Funds are made available via the City of Texas City 2023/2024 Annual Budget account number 501703-55360. A letter of recommendation with bid tabulation is attached for your review.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department and ARKK Engineers, to award bid number 2024-454 to LG&G Construction, Inc., for the total bid amount of $149,796.25, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price, without taking the matter before the City Commission. Thank you.
