| SUBJECT: | Adopt a Resolution Setting the Regular City Council Meeting Schedule for Calendar Year 2026

Recommendation:
Adopt Resolution No. 2025-44 setting the regular City Council meeting schedule for calendar year 2026.
Background/Analysis:
Under Chapter 2.01 of the Canyon Lake Municipal Code, the City Council establishes its regular meetings by resolution. Resolution No. 2022-56, adopted September 14, 2022, sets the regular meeting time as the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
The proposed resolution formally adopts the City Council’s annual meeting schedule for the upcoming calendar year. City Council meetings are regularly held on the second Wednesday of each month. However, in November 2026, the second Wednesday falls on Veterans Day, a federal holiday. Therefore, the November 2026 meeting will be rescheduled to the following Wednesday. Establishing the meeting calendar in advance provides transparency and predictability for the public, allows for coordinated planning of City business and community events, and ensures compliance with noticing requirements under the Brown Act.
