RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the acceptance of the Crisis Response Unit vehicle.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Crisis Response Unit program has no backup vehicle for maintenance or breakdowns. A grant was used to purchase another vehicle to cover the downtime for future maintenance and repairs. The vehicle can also allow case management to follow up with long-term patients. Followup type calls can take 45 minutes to two hours, making the current vehicle unavailable for service for new calls. Substance Abuse Connect (Zack Terakedis) used grant funding to procure another vehicle. Our current contract with Rimrock identifies us, the City of Billings, as the party responsible for maintenance, licensing, and insurance coverage. The vehicle is well above the donation requirements and needs the council's approval for ownership.
