Staff recommends purchasing a 2025 58,000 GVW 12-yard dump truck from I-State Truck Center in the amount of $134,462, which includes a trade amount and a warranty.

The purchase of a dump truck is included in the FY25 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP) and FY25 Street & Traffic budget.  The purchase will replace an existing unit which will be traded in. 

The 2025 58,000 GVW 12-yard dump truck was advertised on May 31st and June 7th, 2024, in the Yellowstone County News and on the City's website. Bids were opened on June 18th and one bid was received. I-State Truck Center submitted the only bid.  Although only one vendor submitted a bid, the bid was less than the budgeted amount and the pricing is comparable to market conditions in the region.

City Council may:

• Approve the purchase of the 2025 58,000 GVW 12-yard dump truck; or,
• Not approve the purchase and reject all bids. If not approved, the dump truck will likely require extensive repair costs and downtime as this unit is nearing the end of its useful life.
