RECOMMENDATION
Determine which council members will fill vacancies on each of the following boards:
- Beartooth Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D)
- Community Development Board
- Legislative and Local Affairs Subcommittee
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Due to the vacation of Council member Joy's position in Ward 3, a vacancy remains on the Community Development Board, which meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 3:00 pm.
and on the Council Subcommittee - Legislative and Local Affairs, which meets on the second Wednesday of the month in the 5th Floor, Rimrock conference room, New City Hall, 4:00 - 5:00 PM and more often when the legislature is in session. Resolution 23-11173 regarding council subcommittees is attached for your review. The Mayor has indicated that the newly appointed city council member for ward 3 will be these two board seats.
Councilmember Kennedy wishes to vacate his position on the Beartooth RC&D Board, which meets on the third Thursday of odd numbered months at 1:30 pm. The Mayor is requesting a volunteer to fill this board seat.
Neither the City Charter nor the Council's Rules of Procedure dictate the process to use for determining council member appointments to boards and commissions.
