RECOMMENDATION
PRPL requests City Council consent to accept and utilize funds donated from Partners 4 Parks to build a basketball court in Pioneer Park. Partners for Parks will donate up to $100,000 towards project costs. They have also taken advantage of the matching grant program through the Parks Department in which they were awarded $29,549.00. This brings the total construction funds to $129,549.00.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
Partners for Parks has fund raised throughout the city to construct a new basketball court in Pioneer Park. The court will replace the under-utilized little league ball field in the southwest corner of the park. Through verbal public canvasing, Partners for Parks and the Kaden's Court Committee found the public is strongly in favor of the court. Pioneer Park currently does not have a basketball court.

FISCAL EFFECTS
Funding for this project will be covered by up to $100,000 donation from Partners for Parks and $29,549 from the Parks FY25 budget using designated matching grant program funds. PRPL does not expect to hire any FTEs. Any additional work added because of the improvements should still be handled in the allotted time that a park employee is already onsite.
