RECOMMENDATION
PRPL seeks Council consent to accept and utilize in-kind/cash donation of $37,869.00 from Partners for Parks (P4P). The in-kind/cash donation will be used to construct two (2) timber-framed shade structures on Skyline Trail on top of the rims.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
P4P was awarded a matching grant from the Parks Matching Grant Program in 2023. P4P is contributing $37,869 and the Matching Grant Program (PRPL) will be contributing $34,110 for a total project budget of $71,979.

FISCAL EFFECTS
Although the cost of the construction is covered through donation and matching funds the PRPL does expect to see a minimal increase in cost over time for maintenance. Well-maintained structures should exceed the normal 20 year life expectancy of the structures. PRPL does not expect to hire any FTEs. Any work needed will be handled by current PRPL staff.
