The Montana Department of Justice has awarded the City of Billings a one-time grant titled Operation Medicine Cabinet Montana Prescription Drug Collection and Disposal in the amount of $1,000.  The grant purpose is to establish permanent drug drop locations.  This funding can be used for: collection boxes, signage, evidence handling, disposal, advertising or associated expenses.  

The City Council may:

• Accept the Operation Medicine Cabinet Montana Prescription Drug Collection and Disposal grant of $1,000; or
• Not accept the grant of $1,000.

There is no financial impact to the City as there is no City match required for this grant.

Staff recommends City Council approve and accept the Operation Medicine Cabinet Montana Prescription Drug Collection and Disposal grant in the amount of $1,000.
