Staff opened bids on March 26, 2013, for W.O. 13-05 IT Conduit to 911 Center.  This project will construct conduit from the MET Transfer Center to the Parks and Recreation Building and the 911 Center with an option to provide conduit to the Public Works Depot Building.  The conduit will allow the city to run new fiber optic lines to each of these buildings from City Hall.  In order to allow adequate time to review the bids, staff recommends that the Council delay awarding a contract until the April 22, 2013 City Council meeting.

The Council may:
• Delay award of Work Order 13-05 IT Conduit to 911 Center until the April 22 City Council meeting; or
• Reject all bids and not award Work Order 13-05 IT Conduit to 911 Center.

Funding for Work Order 13-05 IT Conduit to 911 Center is from IT reserve funds with a contribution from Yellowstone County.  The project was bid on March 26 and the results of that bid will be presented for award recommendation at the April 22, 2013, City Council meeting.

Staff recommends that Council delay award of a construction contract for Work Order 13-05 IT Conduit to 911 Center until the April 22, 2013, Council meeting to give staff time to review the bids.
