Great Harvest Bread Company at 907 Poly Drive has requested a variance from the off street parking requirements.  The applicant is expanding their operations into the adjacent building at their existing site.  Due to the fact that the expansion will include a change of use, the applicant must meet site development requirements.  They currently have 7 spaces and are required by code to have 15 spaces.  Great Harvest Bread Company is expanding into the portion of the building that was previously occupied by the Poet Street Market.  Great Harvest Bread Company is a similar use to the Poet Street Market, and there were no recorded parking problems when the building was occupied by the Poet Street Market. 

The Council may:

• Approve the variance which allows the applicant to expand their operations on the current site.
• Not approve the variance.  If the variance is not approved, the bakery will not be able to use the adjacent building and another use would likely utilize the building which ultimately could make the parking situation worse. 

The administrative cost of the variance is offset by the application fee.
