Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on September 24, 2013 to purchase two, 2014 Single Engine Combination Sewer and Catch Basin Cleaner trucks.  Funds for this purchase are in the approved FY14 budget.  The new trucks will replace existing trucks that are part of the Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP).  The existing trucks will be traded to the company providing the new trucks.

• Accept the low bid from Titian Machinery and purchase two, 2014 Single Engine Combination Sewer and Catch Basin Cleaners; or

• Reject all bids and do not purchase the trucks at this time.

The City received three bids for the two Sewer and Catch Basin Cleaners. The two bids from Kois were submitted in one package with two options.  The bid submittals from Kois were not complete and as such, neither of the two Kois bids were considered.

Staff recommends that the City Council approve purchasing two 2014 Single Engine Combination Sewer and Catch Basin Cleaner Trucks from Titan Machinery in the amount of $641,112, minus trade-in of $32,000, plus the 5-year warranty for $5,700.00, for a total net bid price of $614,812.00.
