On January 14, 2013, the City Council approved a five-year contract with CTA Architects and Engineers, to provide the Airport with Architectural and Engineering services needed for building and building equipment designs, specifications and bidding documents, and related construction administration. The five-year term contract is amended each time a project is undertaken, and Amendment 2 for $50,822.37 includes those services for the project described below.

This project includes the removal and replacement of 10 automobile security access gates, the installation of new Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) at each gate, and a software upgrade of the Airport's Security Access Control System program. The scope of work and associated architectural fees have been reviewed and negotiated by staff and approved by the FAA.

The City Council may:

• Approve Amendment 2 for the Architectural Services for the Airport Security Access Gates Replacement Project with CTA Architects and Engineers; or
• Decline to approve Amendment 2, delaying the project.

The total cost of Amendment 2 for the Airport Security Access Gates Replacement Project  with CTA Architects and Engineers is $50,822.37 and is funded with a 90% Airport Improvement Program (AIP) entitlement grant and with10% local match funds. The FAA's portion will be $45,740.13 and the City's match will be $5,082.24.  The project is included in the current budget and local match funds are budgeted and available in the Airport's Capital account.

Staff recommends that the City Council approve Amendment 2 with CTA Architects and Engineers for $50,822.37 to provide Architectural Services at the Airport for the Airport Security Access Gates Replacement Project.
