PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Public Hearing and Resolution for FY15 First Quarter Budget Amendments:
Fund 6200-Information Technology
Information Technology is requesting a budget amendment for the Capital fund to support the purchase of software, licenses, and tapes necessary to support a new data backup and disaster/recovery solution. In an age where anything and everything is stored electronically, routine data backups and disaster/recovery solutions are mission critical and a top priority for IT. Through an unfortunate series of events, IT lost confidence in our current solution. Reserves will be used to fund this amendment.
Funds 0100-14-Non-Departmental, 2740-CDBG
Community Development did not budget enough for rent to be paid by the General Fund which will make the total 48,127. Reserves will be used to fund this amendment.
2740-67800-405310 14,127 Rent
2740-67800-307515 14,127 Transfer from General Fund
0100-14120-408264 14,127 Transfer to CDBG

ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may: Approve the requested budget amendments; or Not approve the requested budget amendments, which would put the City in violation of Montana Code Annotated.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The requested budget amendments will be funded by current reserves.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council conduct a public hearing and approve the resolution approving and adopting the first quarter budget amendments for Fiscal Year 2014/2015.
