PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The proposed contract amendment with Sanderson Stewart is to cover the construction administration and a few small items that were not anticipated in the original contract for professional services. The contract was approved on November 10, 2014, for the design of the project. It was always anticipated that a contract amendment would need to be completed for the construction administration. The construction administration includes the inspection and testing of the project through construction. The contract amendment is in the amount of $301,150.00.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the contract amendment with Sanderson Stewart in the amount of $301,150.00, or;
- Disapprove the contract amendment. If the amendment is not approved, city staff will have perform the construction administration. Engineering is not currently staffed to do this construction administration.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This amendment will be paid out of East Billings TIF Bonds, East Billings TIF Funds, water funds and gas tax funds.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the contract amendment with Sanderson Stewart in the amount of $301,150.00.
