PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The roof at Fire Station #5 was assessed by CTA Envelope Specialists and is in need of replacement. The replacement is planned and budgeted in the FY17 Budget. Bids will be opened on September 6, after the Council agenda is published. Since the remaining construction season is so short, staff will provide additional information about bidders and will recommend an award to Council by Friday, September 9.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
CTA evaluated the roof options and are recommending replacement with a 60 mil EPDM Roof. An Invitation for Bid was advertised on August 25 and September 1st. Bids were opened on September 6, 2016 and we received four (4) qualified bids.
The low bid was Perfect 10 Roofing for $46,995.00. The other bids were from Metal Works MT, Summit Roofing, and Commercial Roofing. Their bids were $121,352.00, $62,125.00, and $68,300.00, respectively.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends awarding the contract for replacing the Fire Station #5 roof to Perfect 10 Roofing for $46,995.00. Staff also recommends approval as we are hoping to complete this project by late Fall.
