Bids were received for W.O. 09-08 WWTP Water Line Replacement on April 13, 2010. On April 26, Council delayed bid award so staff could review and evaluate the contractor's bids and qualifications.  Staff recommends that council award the contract to Becco General Construction Services for the Total Unit Price Bid + Bid Alternate A in the amount of $585,000.00

This project includes replacing 130 lineal feet of existing water line on the Metra property, 220 lineal feet of directional drill parallel water line across Alkali Creek, and replacing 730 lineal feet of 4-inch and 2-inch water line on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Site. City crews will also install approximately 800 ft of 8-inch water line on the Metra property that is not included in this bid award.

The Council may:
• Award the contract to Becco General Construction Services in the amount of $585,000.00; or
• Reject all bids and do not award contract for W.O. 09-08

This project will be funded with Wastewater Revenues. The city received four bids for this project as follows:

Remaining funds will be used for change orders, materials testing, and other administrative costs.

Staff recommends that Council award the bid for Work Order 09-08 WWTP Water Line Replacement to Becco General Construction Services in the amount of $585,000.00.
