PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Lot 14 of Brittain Acres is located on Yellowstone River Road and Cottonwood. There are storage units on the parcel. It's only access is from Yellowstone River Road, however, there is a parcel of land between it and Yellowstone River Road. This parcel is owned by the City of Billings and has a bike path on it. The property owner has always accessed the lot from Yellowstone River Road over the parcel with the bike path. The owner has requested an access easement from the City to continue with this access . This easement will formalize their access.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
The Council may:
- Approve the access easement, or
- Do not approve the access easement. If an easement does not exist, there would be no formal access to Lot 14, Brittain Acres.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact associated with approval of this easement.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve an access easement for Lot 14 of Brittain Acres.
