PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
WO 16-09, Grand Avenue project, will widen Grand Avenue between 52nd Street West and 58th Street West. This includes constructing a three lane section on Grand Avenue, a traffic signal at 54th and Grand, a HAWK signal in front of Ben Steele Middle School, constructing a multi-use path along the south side of Grand and the west side of 54th Street West. The project was bid on March 21st. Bid results and a staff recommendation for award will be included in the Friday, March 25, Council packet and presented at the City Council meeting.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- After presenting the bid results, approve the construction contract; or,
- Do not approve the construction contract. If the project is not approved, Grand Avenue will not be constructed at this time.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Bid results will be included in the Friday packet and presented at the Council meeting.
The project resources are arterial fees, school district contribution, storm drain funds, and developer contributions.
