PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands is partnering with the Landon's Legacy Foundation, which is raising funds for the development of a Miracle League baseball field and an inclusive and accessible playground for children of all abilities. The Miracle League is an organization dedicated to providing an accessible baseball facility for children with physical limitations to participate and enjoy the game of baseball. The Landon's Legacy Foundation was developed by Scott and Marcie Smith to honor their son, Landon. Its mission is to "Bridge the gap between our communities special needs population and their peers through sports and healthy physical play". The Board of Directors are Marcie Smith, President, Murry Brumwell, Vice President, Alicia Smith, Secretary and Kyle Jordan, Treasurer. Board Members are Scott Smith, Dane Smith, Greg Kemmis, Leann Zahn, Jan Brumwell and Scott Roby. Working closely with the Foundation is the Billings Kiwanis Club who are also assisting in the fund raising effort to make this facility a reality. Their officers are Julie Thomason, President, Brian Chouinard, Vice President, David Rye, Secretary, Lisa Wood, Treasurer, Hans Abby, Past President. Members include Bill Clagg, Bob Peterson, Leann Zahn, Sandra Smith and Tawna Leonard.
Landon's Legacy Foundation is donating $66,570.00 to fund a master plan study to determine the suitability and location of a Miracle League facility at Poly Vista Park. The Billings Kiwanis has contributed $27,000.00 of this donation amount through their fundraising efforts.

There is no budget/financial impact from this action because the funds will be spent soon after they are received.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council accept this donation of $66,570.00 from the Landon's Legacy Foundation.
