PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
This project consists of upgrading and renovating the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system for the Belknap Service Center. The existing system has multiple problems including non-functioning equipment, outdated controls, zone coverage issues, and other miscellaneous troubles. Staff opened bids on January 30, 2018, for the Work Order 17-22, Belknap Service Center HVAC. The contract was advertised on January 12, 19, and 26 in The Yellowstone County News and on the City's website. Corval Constructors Inc. submitted the lowest responsible bid.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Award W.O. 17-22, Belknap Service Center HVAC to Corval Constructors Inc. in the amount of $374,963; or
- Do not award a contract and reject all bids. If this project is not awarded, the HVAC system's problems will continue and will increase over time.
