PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
On June 25, 2018, as part of the FY19 budget, Council approved funding for the first phase development of Centennial Park in the amount of $2,460,000. On July 13, 2018 PRPL Staff sent out a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking professional Landscape Architectural services to provide design, construction documents and construction administration for this project. There were 6 firms that responded. A selection committee met on August 6, 2018 to review the submittals and to select the top ranked firm to enter into negotiations of the project scope and fee. The firm Steiner Thuesen of Billings was selected and submitted a fee of $331,111.00.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve a contract with Steiner Thuesen in the amount of $331,111.00 to provide professional landscape architectural services for the Centennial Park Development project, or;
- Disapprove the contract and provide staff with additional guidance.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $2,460,000 was approved by Council as part of the FY 2019 budget for the first phase development of Centennial Park.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approve a contract with Steiner Thuesen for professional Landscape Architectural services in the amount of $331,111.00 for the development of Centennial Park first phase.
