One of the Airport Terminal's HVAC projects that needs to be completed is the replacement of the Makeup Air Units for the Airport Terminal Building kitchen area.  These Makeup Air Units supply fresh outside air with heating and cooling for the Terminal Building kitchen area, replacing the air exhausted by the kitchen hood fan system and keeping the kitchen area at comfortable temperature levels.  The existing units are twenty-five years old, have been suffering repeated failures, and cannot sufficiently serve the kitchen area.  This project was advertised in the Yellowstone County News on August 24, 31, and September 7, and was posted on the City and Airport's Websites. On September 11, 2018, the following bids were received:

City Council may:

• Approve the construction contract for the replacement of the Makeup Air Units for the Terminal Building kitchen area; or
• Reject all bids and advise staff on how to proceed.

The total cost of this project is $141,768. The budget authority and the funds for the project are available in the Airport's Capital account.

Staff recommends the City Council approve the award of the Makeup Air Units for the Airport Terminal Building kitchen to Empire Heating and Cooling, for the amount of $141,768.
