PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Three bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on September 11, 2018 to purchase 1 - 2019 58,000 GVW, 12 yd dump truck with snow plow assembly and sander. This purchase will replace an existing truck that is included in the FY19 Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP).
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve purchasing 1 - 58,000 GVW, 12 yd dump truck with snow plow assembly and sander, or;
- Disapprove the purchase. The existing truck is nearing the end of its useful lives.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The City received 3 bids for the truck as shown below:

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the low bid and purchase the truck from IState in the amount of $170,581.00. This amount includes the trade-in of Unit #1156 for $30,000.00 and 5 year engine/transmission warranty for $3,401.00.
