PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The Fire Prevention Bureau submitted a grant application to the Billings Clinic Foundation in the amount of $1,873.09 for the purchase of a laptop and wireless projector. The Billings Clinic Foundation agreed to fund the purchase a laptop computer and projector to be used for public education and fire prevention presentations.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may approve or disapprove accepting the $1,873.09 donation from Billings Clinic Foundation for the purchase of a laptop computer and wireless, widescreen projector for public education and fire prevention presentations.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The existing computer is outdated and not compatible with current media materials available. Accepting his donation from the Billings Clinic Foundation would allow the fire prevention bureau to conduct public education and fire safety presentation using a variety of video materials.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends accepting the $1,873.09 donation from Billings Clinic Foundation for the purchase of a laptop computer to use during fire education and fire safety presentations.
