PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
The City of Billings Public Works Department has a need for a media marketing consultant to improve communications with customers and get out in front of items with education and information. These items include, but are not limited to, solid waste alley conversion, residential snow plowing, construction updates, road closures, and upcoming projects. A Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised for a media marketing consultant. A Committee evaluated five proposals and ranked the proposals based on each firm's ability to meet the specifications and parameters identified in the RFP. The Committee voted unanimously to select Q2/E.W. Scripps Company as the vendor to provide the media marketing consultant services.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the Agreement with Q2/E.W. Scripps Company or;
- Disapprove the Agreement with Q2/E.W. Scripps Company.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The maximum annual cost for the media marketing consulting services is $120,000. Funds are available in Public Work's budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the agreement with Q2/E.W. Scripps Company for the media marketing consultant services and authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement.
