W.O. 19-35 Zone 1 WTP Waterline Improvements is a project to:

• install piping to connect zone 2 to zone 1; 
• split zone 1 into two zones: zone 1 north and zone 1 south; and
• replace old waterlines within the water plant complex.

The work will provide redundancy and protections within the system. The project was advertised August 16th, 23rd, 30th, and September 6th, 2019 in the Yellowstone County News and city website.  Bids were opened on September 10, 2019.  Two bids were received and Western Municipal Construction submitted the lowest responsible bid.

The Council may:

• Award W.O. 19-35: Zone 1 WTP Waterline Improvements, to Western Municipal Construction, in the amount of $1,309,900.00; or
• Do not award a contract and reject all bids. If the contract is not awarded, the work can not be done which will result in having less reliability than is desired or recommended within the water system.

Staff recommends the City Council award a contract for W.O. 19-35 Zone 1 WTP Waterline Improvements to Western Municipal Construction in the amount of $1,309,900.
