Holy Rosary Church requests a street closure on Custer Avenue for a fundraiser to help pay for an elevator in the church. The events will be in the parking lot and in the street, and they desire to close off the section of Custer Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets West on Sunday, September 12th, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Recommended conditions of approval include Holy Rosary Church to:

1. Contact area residents affected by the closure and make them aware of the event
2. Clean the area to be used and provide and empty waste cans
3. Provide and install adequate traffic barricades and signs directing motorists around the closure
4. Provide certificate of insurance naming City of Billings as additional insured
5. Provide an unobstructed 10’ wide lane in the section of closed street for emergency vehicle access

The Council may:
• Approve request to close street for the event; or
• Deny the street closure

There are no costs to the City of Billings other than administrative time to process permit. Cleanup and traffic control are to be paid for by Holy Rosary Church.

Staff recommends that Council approve the closure named above for the Holy Rosary Church Fundraiser.
