PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Medium Duty Conventional Trash Truck is a bid for a trash truck which would allow the Parks Division to continue to provide trash service to all the City parks. Staff received and opened bids on August 27, 2019, to purchase a new Medium Duty Conventional Cab and Chassis with a Mounted Rear Loading Refuse Collection Body. Staff advertised for sealed bids on August 9 and August 16, 2019. At the September 9, 2019, City Council meeting staff was asked to study whether it would be more cost-effective to have Public Works provide trash service. Staff is asking for additional time to do a thorough analysis. Staff is recommending that City Council delay action on this item until the October 15, 2019 meeting.
