On April 13, 1992, the Mayor and City Council adopted a Resolution No. 92-16531 assessing a  4% franchise fee to be levied against the City's water and wastewater utilities. .

Upon approval of the FY 2019 City budget, the Mayor and Council decided to no longer assess these franchise fees. Staff recommends repeal of the 1992 resolution creating the fees consistent with the Mayor and Council's decision to no longer assess the fees in the FY 2019 and following fiscal years.

City Council may:

• Approve the resolution repealing assessment of franchise fees upon the City's water, wastewater and solid waste services., or;
• Disapprove the resolution

Since the Council previously decided to no longer assess these fees beginning with the FY19 budget, there is no current financial impact to the City. 

Staff recommends that the Council approve the repeal of resolution 92-16531.
