PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Section 2-551-552, Billings, Montana City Code, (BMCC), established the makeup and role of the City's Human Relations Commission. The current code was reviewed by Human Relations Commission Members in November and December 2019. The members recommend amending this section focusing on updating and simplifying existing language.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the amendment to City Code, or;
- Disapprove the amendment to City Code. If the code is not changed, then the existing language will remain in effect.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is not a financial impact associated with this ordinance revision.
RECOMMENDATION
Human Relations Commission recommends that the City Council hold a public hearing and approve first reading of this ordinance amending Section 2-551-552, BMCC.
