PROBLEM/ISSUE STATEMENT
Vision Net a Montana communications company is seeking a 10 foot wide easement in the Galaxy Subdivision within parkland between Senators Boulevard and Capricorn Place to install a new fiber optic line. See Easement Documents in Attachments A. This easement is located along the edge of the parkland to avoid potential conflicts with park use.
ALTERNATIVES ANALYZED
City Council may:
- Approve the requested utility easements within the parkland in the Galaxy Subdivision or;
- Disapprove the easements and provide staff with additional direction.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will be no financial impact to the City.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the utility easement in the Galaxy Subdivision Parkland to allow Vision Net to install a new fiber optic line.
