Bids were received by the Street/Traffic Division for the Public Works Department on September 28, 2010, to purchase a 2011 56,000 GVW 10-yard dump truck with a snow plow assembly and sander.  This purchase was approved by the City Council in the FY11 budget for replacement of an existing 10-yard dump truck as part of the Equipment Replacement Plan (ERP).  The existing dump truck will be traded in to the company providing the new truck.  The new truck will also have a 5-year warranty that will be included in the bid price.

The City Council may:

• Approve the award of the 2011 10-yard dump truck with plow and sander to IState in the amount of $149,689, plus a 5-year warranty of $1,625.00: or
• Reject all bids and not award the purchase of the dump truck.

The City received 2 bids for this dump truck as shown below:

Staff recommends awarding the bid for the purchase of a 2011 56,000 GVW 10-yard dump truck with a snow plow assembly and sander in the amount of $148,064.00 plus the 5 year warranty of $1625.00 to IState for a total of $149,689.00.  Staff also recommends trading the existing dump truck (Unit #1159) for a credit of $15,000.00 that is reflected in the final price of the bid.
