RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of fifteen (15) Motorola radios for Police SUV vehicles in the amount of $107,274.30.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
| The City of Billings recently entered into a new contract with Motorola Solutions to provide all radio services. In January 2022 the City Council approved a budget amendment related to Public Safety Mill Levy funds. In that amendment the purchase of Police SUV vehicles and associated equipment was approved for purchase. Staff is requesting that the City Council approve the purchase of fifteen (15) Motorola police radios for new SUV vehicles. |
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the purchase of fifteen (15) Motorola police radios for new SUV vehicles; or,
- Not Approve the purchase of fifteen (15) Motorola police radios for new SUV vehicles and provide further directions to staff.
FISCAL EFFECTS
Fifteen Motorola Police Radios are budgeted for in the FY2022 Police Budget. These were included in the January budget amendment related to the Public Safety Mill Levy.
