RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council award a contract for W.O. 22-29: 24th Street West Signal Conduit Upgrades to Montana Lines, Inc. in the amount of $446,606.10.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
W.O. 22-29: 24th Street West Signal Conduit Upgrades is part of the ongoing traffic signal replacement project. The City has been upgrading the existing traffic signal controllers, communication equipment, and detection to allow staff to immediately respond to traffic demands and adjust signal timing. Four intersections with collapsed conduit require the conduit to be replaced in order to perform the necessary upgrades. The project also upgrades the signal controllers, cabinets, and pull boxes. The end result of the project will allow monitoring and adjustment of traffic operations in real time. Three of the intersections are located along 24th Street West (at Monad Road, Mall Drive, and Lewis Avenue), and one intersection is at Grand Avenue and Rehberg Lane. Staff opened bids on June 7, 2022. The contract was advertised on May 20, May 27, and June 3, 2022, in the Yellowstone County News and on the City's Website. Two bids were received, and Montana Lines, Inc. submitted the lowest, responsible bid.
