RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approve the second and final reading of the Ordinance amending BMCC, Article 21-200, Solid Waste Collection and Disposal.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
At its meeting on June 13, 2022, the City Council conducted a public hearing and approved first reading of an ordinance amending Article 21-200 of the Billings Montana City Code to revise Sec. 21-239, carry out service fees and requirements and Sec. 21-211 (d), adding container clearance requirements and recommendations. Additionally, amendments were proposed to delete obsolete language in BMCC, Article 21-200, as well as minor amendments to the verbiage. Additional changes were made by City Council at the meeting and are incorporated in this amended ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may:
- Approve the amendment to BMCC, Article 21-200 Solid Waste Collection and Disposal; or,
- Not approve the amendment.
FISCAL EFFECTS
It is estimated that the Solid Waste Fund will receive $10,500 less in revenues annually as a result of passing this amendment.
