RECOMMENDATION
This is an informational presentation regarding the City's Board of Appeals and requires no action. Staff requests feedback from Council regarding changes to section 6-205 of BMCC.
BACKGROUND (Consistency with Adopted Plans and Policies, if applicable)
The Board of Appeals meets very infrequently, which makes it difficult to keep volunteers interested in participating. We are proposing changes to the required number of members and their qualifications. Additionally, removing subsection (b), which refers to areas in the county which the Building Division no longer has jurisdiction over.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may provide direction on the revised ordinance or direct staff to leave the ordinance as written.
FISCAL EFFECTS
This ordinance change would have no fiscal effects.
